Who and what is SiS?
The Student Welfare Organisation in Stavanger (SiS) is an independent organization that works for student welfare. The University of Stavanger, BI Stavanger, Noroff Stavanger, VID Stavanger, the Art School in Stavanger, and the School of Leadership and Theology are all affiliated with SiS, and students at these educational institutions are entitled to use our services.
We offer student housing, health services, a sports center, and cafés. In addition, we distribute operational funds (welfare funds) to student organizations and academic associations via the Welfare Council in Stavanger. In total, approximately 13,500 students are under our umbrella.
SiS has over 200 employees, both full-time and part-time. We work according to the vision "The Student's Best."
