Talk therapy with a psychologist/therapist

Struggling with student life? At SiS you can get short-term counseling with a psychologist/therapist

About the offer

Note: As of May, the waiting time for the first appointment is approximately 5–6 weeks.

When you contact the health department at SiS, you simultaneously consent to us sending you information about appointments by SMS and email.

To apply for treatment, you must complete the entire assessment (Norse Feedback). After you have completed the assessment, you will receive a reply by SMS within a couple of days.

What can I get help with at the SiS health department?

SiS offers treatment for mild mental health issues. We can help you cope with study-related and interpersonal challenges, as well as various life crises. The treatment is of limited duration. The goal of the treatment is to give you a solid foundation so that you can become more resilient and better able to handle the challenges you face.

I’ve been told there is a waiting time for appointments at SiS, but I don’t want to/can’t wait—what do I do?

As an alternative to our own services, AAT (Ambulant Acute Team) can, in addition to their emergency services, also offer a short period of support sessions for students. They can also refer further to specialist health services. No referral is needed and students can contact them directly by phone 91 65 10 05 to arrange an appointment. Any co-payment to AAT will be reimbursed by us if you submit a receipt using this form.

There are many support services available in the region, with different waiting times, so there might be another service that suits you just as well. https://minsis.no/helse/andre-hjelpetilbud

What is expected of me when I go to sessions?

Talk therapy is a collaboration between the student and the therapist. We expect you to attend at the agreed time and to be prepared to work on your difficulties outside of the sessions as well. We would also like you to take part in one of our courses or group programs as a supplement to, or replacement for, individual sessions.

If your condition worsens while you are waiting for an appointment, we recommend that you contact your GP, the Mobile Crisis Team, or the psychiatric nurse at the emergency clinic.
